He said it lasted for about 20 minutes and it hurt so bad he said he wanted to cry and then Boom..it went away just like that? What in the world could that be??? Is he okay?

This sounds as if it could be aproblem with the small blood vessels in the brain. He needs to get it checked out by a doctor, until then to refrain from lifting heavy items.

It could just be that when he was lifting he popped something that triggered something in his brain that gave him a headache. How long was he lifting? It could be just that he was overworking himself.

what could be worst than seeing doctor? they would be able to tell more better than any of us cause we cannot see what's inside the human body. the doctors are the professional. seek them before you can to give both of you reassurance and peace rather than guessing.
