If they are found guilty of using nandrilone, as now looks likely, should they be banned for only a couple of years like some other sportsmen guilty of using this drug, or for life?
A life ban seems harsh, but they knew what they were doing and they knew the risks, so I think that would be fair.

I believe a two year ban is sufficient.It will effectively end Shoab Akthar's career as I believe he is 31 now and fast bowlers,Mcgrath the exception, lose both their effectiveness and speed as they age.As for Asif the 2 year ban should not harm his career too much as he is relative new to International Cricket .
Yes, I also agree they knew what they were doing But how many have got away with "IT" in the past.Shane Warne came back from a 12 month suspension and is now the leading wickettaker in the World.I suppose it is up to the individual's response.
REMEMBER their "B" tests also need to come back positive.

The punishment awarded earlier for such incident was 2 years ban. I think the same will be made applicable in the case of
Shoaib Akthar and Mohammed Asif also.

i guess...it will be a on year ban on both of them..whihc would definately put akhtar's career 2 n end...while asif may return but not as effective as he is today....its such a stupid act 2 b comittted even when they knew that they r gonna b tested..players in the past used 2 do it often..but there were no tests those times..but this is such a childish act by both of them n can well cost them thier carers...and i now really pity team pakistan....inzi is already out,...pakistans chance for world cup r over if there were any...i feel pak will lose all the 3 games in th echampions trophy...n inzi retiring after world cup will cause more problems!!

If its proved that they had done that deliberately then I think they deserve a ban for life but if they accidentally took it then I don't think it would be fair on them. The coach Bob Woolmer was saying that both bowlers are injury-prone so they might have accidentally consumed nandrilone through one of their medicines, if that's the case then I hope they should come out clean.

they r not banned yet,possibly be baned for year or two, they r denying n still its a bit confusion that whether it was steriods or those injection given for their fitness......anyway !! shane warn was banned for one year found guilty for the same, but he is still there soo who knows..!!!asif's chances of come back are brighter than shoaib..

They should surely get punishment, like about banned for a couple of series and should cut 30% of their salary.
