Because they ARE an ally. They have offered their military services, political backing, diplomacy, and funding. Gotta love the Brits. It's the French that bother me.

It took over a hundred years for the U.S. and the U.alright to alter into allies. area of it became that the U.ok grew to alter into an best buddy of France first with the intention to counteract the increasing effect of a newly-united Germany in Europe. whilst Germany attacked American delivery throughout international conflict I, the U.S. entered the conflict on the edge of France and the U.ok. the area between France and the U.S. is usually a results of Charles De Gaulle and his rules. After international conflict II, with some reluctance, the U.ok. extensive-unfold a lesser function in international affairs. on an identical time as France had the comparable issues after international conflict II by way of fact the U.ok. (loss of colonies), De Gaulle looked for replace procedures for re-installation the magnitude of France as a pacesetter on the international degree (taking the militia out of the unified NATO command, build up the ecu Union). in many cases, the continuation of those rules has led France to take a contrarian place on many U.S. distant places coverage initiatives.

Most consider UK as an international friend, despite rocky history a couple hundred years ago. The same language certainly helps, as does the sharing of music and movies and actors and singers. I'd think most people on the street would either consider UK as a equal ally or maybe a smaller, less powerful friend. A few probably think it is part of the US!

Oh yeah???
And did you yanks consider the Uk as an ally when you were giving money to the IRA???
I witnessed this in New York when the ship I was serving on visited the Big Apple.
In many bars they were selling 4-leaf clovers with the motto
Spend a Dollar to kill a Tommy
You can`t deny it. I and many of my shipmates witnessed this and were disgusted! There were so many fights in the bars that the police demanded we were not allowed shore leave.
The day we sailed away from the USA was the happiest day in my life.
And you have the cheek to call us your ally......
Two-faced comes to mind!

They are only an ally when they truly think about the very nature of thought itself. Human consciousness itself is never fixed but continually changing and developing new categories and concepts. These determine how we experience the world, so that knowledge is always the result of a series of conflicting positions - hope this helps.

I think the British are a great friend and they are doing the right thing through their leadership but it is a shame that the media in Britain leans so far left it makes ours look consevative, but even
with all the leftist there, britain I feel will always stand with us.

They respect us more than we respect ourselves.
I've just been to Florida on Holiday and at Busch Gardens and Seaworld shows, they play a filmclip and pay respect and thanks to all US AND UK service personnel, serving and retired (Vets).
They ask for service personnel (serving and retired) and their families to stand and the whole audiance (can be thousands) applaud to show their appreciation.
As a (UK) Veteran - thank God for them and that they are on our side.
As far as our Government is concerned, UK service personnel are third class citizens whose only purpose is to further their own political purposes.
EDIT: Sorry missed the only American bit.

Ally is just a polite way of saying accessory to the crime. The war against terror is a hoax perpetrated by the Bush regime. Blair was Bush's poodle. The British were duped. Sorry, but that's how it is.
