Alliyah isn't my favorite name and neither is Alyssa, but they are still very pretty. Middle names I like for either could be Kathryn, Sydney, Brooke, or Finley. As for using Makayla, it just depends on how often you'd be seeing your cousin and her daughter. My cousin has the same name as I do and it doesn't really bother me (we are 10 years apart in age, see each other maybe once every 6 months). Maybe you could just spell it different so it wasn't exactly the same. How about Michaela since you want her to be named after her dad? Makaela is pretty as well and so is Macalah.
As for boy names, I love Ryan Scott. Jayden is becoming too popular and is too feminine in spelling for me.

Jayden is a wonderful name we are also considering Jayden. Makayla is a wonderful name but I wouldn't suggest using it. It will be weird when you send out the birth announcements. We too are having a hard time finding names that aren't being used by close friends or family. Maybe Makila it's close but very different and still incorporates your husbands name.

For girls, I don't think sharing a name with a cousin is very fun...
for example, My aunt who is younger than my mom, has appeared to be a copy cat.
My Sister's middle name is Marie. She was born before my cousin who has the same middle name...
that same aunt named her 2nd daughter born more than a year after me Laura.
My mom and my aunt had their 3rd on the same day...My brothers name would have been kimberly had he been a girl...and, you guessed it...she had a girl, and named her kimberly.
My aunt has 3 more kids than my mom...and she was pregnant with her last on 3-4yrs ago...my mom's last baby, born 8 yrs ago died right after birth. His name was christopher...I vowed that if my aunt named her next child if it was a boy...that same name, I would strangle her...
Anyway...it's been no fun because whenever we're around them, or when we were...I'm almost 22 and married. I'm not sure if it would be the same but...the older sisters were "the Maries"
and my cousin and I are "The Lauras".
For example, if we were over there and the dishes had to be done, it was "Go get the Laura's to do the dishes"...or it's the Maries turn. etc...
I understand you wanting to "honor" your husbands name, but consider these options:
Michelle-"Gift from God"
Makynli-"Beautiful"
Meckenzie-"Daughter of the wise leader"
Michealina-"Close to God"
Michaelyn-"Who is like God"
You know, I have a neice on my husband's side named Makayla.
My sister isn't married, yet, but wants to use the same name. I'm begging her not to because I don't need the confusion. Ultimately, it's up to her...
How about Alliyah Star-"Exhaulted Star"
I'm into unique names. My daughter's name is Anastacia Rain.
Good luck. Whatever name you pick for your child...

If that is what you are attached to use it! My husband and I found out that we did the same thing (second cousins) not once but twice to the same cousin. I have never really even talked to her however when younger her oldest sister and I were very close and with time and distance we never talk. Our parents do from time to time and think its funny that we could barely know each other and have such similar taste in names. My first daughter Kaitlyn also shares the same middle name McKenzie with our distant cousin. The second daughters just share the same first name, Kennedy.
People understand naming a child isn't always easy and if your heart is set on a name keep it and don't give it up for anyone!

I wouldn't use the name since your cousin has already named her baby that.
-Alyssa is a cute name. Alliyah isn't so great.
I would go with Alyssa.
-Alyssa Renee
-Alyssa Anne
-Alyssa Adel
-Alyssa Nichole
Out of the boys name you have down, I think Jayden Scott is really cute.
Jayden is a really cute name.
You can also use Jayden for a girl also.
It would actually be a really cute name for a little girl.
Ever think about that??

How about Alliyah or Alyssa (Renee or Marie) to go with.
I always liked the name Arizona for a girl.
For a boy, Jayden sounds good but Ryan sounds gay.
Chayton is Souix for falcon.
How about Tristin?

I too think you should name her Makayla if you want to, and I love both boy names. I have a cousin named Ryan and a little boy in my Sunday school class that I love dearly named Jaden

If you do not see your cousin much then its no big deal. Name your daughter Mikayla. It's perfectly okay to do so. As for the middle name I like them both. I have always liked Alyssa but tehy are both beautiful and both go great with Mikayla. For a boy I like Jayden Scott.
