There is really no reason to do vaginal exams until you are actually in labour or there is a suspected problem, according to the new SOGC guidelines (which is in Canada)
Frequent un-necessary exams could introduce infection, or cause an intra partum complication (IE preterm labour or accidental rupture of membranes)

That's not uncommon. Some women start to dilate very early, and it isn't anything to worry about. I walked around for about 6 weeks dilated to 2 cm. I have heard some women dilate to 3-5 long before delivery and everything is fine. Your body is just preparing! Good Luck, and they should check every doc visit now too.

Usually at 32 weeks You should be going every two weeks now and then start going at 36 weeks every week. Unless you have any complications then he/she should check you if you have any concerns. If you are having a lot of pressure that would be an early reason for the doctor to check you.

My doctor started checking around 35 weeks. I believe most doctors start checking between 34 and 36 weeks unless there is some reason for them to begin checking sooner.

Usually around 35 or 36 weeks, unless you have had problems with early labor in the past.
