a) The propelling force is Fn + 635 N

(Adding in any vertical forces is not what is asked for.)

Total Force = grav force - kinetic friction force - air resistance force

friction force + air resistance = 635 N

Total Force = m*a = 275 kg * 3.07 = 844.25 N

grav force = 844.25 + 635 = 1479.25 N

the net force acting on the bobsled = 844.25 N
