They have to report it, they are mandated under federal law to report any concerns in which a child/teen is doing something that may bring harm to themsleves or others. They also are mandated to report a situation in which the feel that a child/teen is in danger from someone else. Abuse from a parent, boyfriend/girlfriend, or other outside party. It's the law there isn't a choice.

Contact the parents, school counselor, and principal to get the student some help.

I think first they should talk to the student... then they should definitely contact the parents or a school counselor. It may be unwelcome to the teen at the time, but later, they may say, You know, Mrs. Jones was the only one who lifted a finger for me...

Do something. This kid is in trouble. Take it to the counsellor, principal & the parents attention. Chances are the parents don't see the problem. Kid needs help.

Speak to the child in question as to why they are doing it. Offer support and maybe get them to speak to their parents. Needs to be nipped in the bud, could end up as an eating disorder

i think of that they are no longer smart to take the weapons away because of the fact the criminals will nonetheless have weapons and we can have no protection to them so then we can all die and all of us understand that weapons omit hand tension and what if criminals get knifes a stab us to demise sounds relaxing
