I'm with you! I don't think there's anything wrong with it.......until you get caught......I didn't always think that way, however, I have recently found myself in that situation. Good luck...

The wrong is that one day the secret will come out, they almost always do, and then someone or some people will be hurt for no good reason. It IS selfish to be dishonest with another, especially a partner, better to end the first relationship, and then go for the cake. In the end it's up to you and your sense of right and wrong and the rest of us have no right or mandate to judge you. A quick question though, and be honest what would it do to you if you were on the receiving end of the deception?

Here's what I think: you know how serial killers don't feel any remorse for what they did? They're called psychopaths, because they don't feel sympathy.
If you have sympathy, think about what the person you're cheating on will feel when he/she finds out.
Then imagine someone was doing this to your sister or best friend. Wouldn't you think the cheating guy was scum? Scum is a hard reputation to rebuild. Don't be scum. Stop cheating.

What happens when it is not a secret and everyone gets hurt? Is it worth it then?

"Wrong" is a judgment - so you get to decide what is and what isn't. Ergo, nothing is inherently wrong. So, enjoy your cake!

SOMEONE is ALWAYS getting hurt. You may not see the consequences of your decision now, but you will eventually.
