I am looking into plant lights for my orchids and am wondering what T5 lights are and how they compare with other fluorescents. What are the differences and how do I figure out how many (of either) to purchase?

Thanks

What is the difference between a T5 light and a fluorescent light. Is the T5 light better for growing Orchids than a fluorescent? Why?

T-5 lights seem to be more energy efficient and put off a light with less glare. The amount and type of lights you need are of course determined by the needs of the plants you are trying to grow. You need to determine how many lumens your plants will need, as well as what temperature of light will work best.
