Seems like a lot of people don't know that NPR is funded by the tax-payers. They also get donations, but can't exist without the tax money. And yes, they are very liberal.

The reason they need tax money is because they are liberal in content and they can't make money on the free market. They can't compete with radio stations that require listeners. Just look at what happened to Air America. It embezzled money from children's funds was funded heavily by Soros and other shady money men and still went belly up because no one wanted to listen to their propaganda.

If you think about it, their demise makes sense. Liberal ideas must be made in a vacuum. They don't stand up to debate. That's why they hate balanced TV stations like Fox News. They are used to being undebated and having their opinions forced upon people without any disagreements.

That's why liberalism = socialism. One opinion, no debates. No freedom of speech unless you agree with their point of view.

I'll get a lot of thumbs down for this because they don't like hearing the truth, because deep down they know they're wrong and require brainwashing to get their point across. Logical thinking is the liberal's worst enemy.

tyranny?
"The term "tyrant", used literally or metaphorically, now carries connotations of cruel despots who place their own interests or the interests of a small oligarchy over the "best" interests of the general population which they govern or control. Many individual rulers or government officials get accused of tyranny, with the label almost always a matter of controversy."

I'm having problems with how a radio station can be accused of tyranny? Does your mother force you to listen to this station?

I never thought that we were suffering under the tyranny of Rush L. but it's a novel idea.

O it's the money that's bothering you, just how much of the funding comes from the government (i.e. the people)? Got any idea?

Are you done whining yet?

Are you done lying and distorting the facts yet?

NPR was voted the most trusted news source in the U.S. in 2005.

NPR is privately funded through public donations with some help from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Quit beliving what you hear from FOX News which 80% of its viewers held one of three misperceptions of the war in Iraq compared to only 23% of NPR listeners. See for yourself!!

National Public Radio is paid for with tax dollars?!? Did you miss the P part, Public? Listener support is what keeps NPR on the air.

Check your facts, what most call the truth your calling tyranny. For the most part good ol America dwells in the ideological center, not where you are. What seems to you to be extreme left is in reality close to center. Get a grip, neither extreme is going to win in this tug of war for American ideals, we always return to the middle.

It's controled by the biased media. We would be well served to
launch an email blitz and encourage outr representatives to NOT
to budget funds to that bed of worms any longer.

Liberal entities feel entitled to public funds. Hence why they advocate the raising of taxes every week or so.

Rush Limbaugh, on the other hand, doesn't take any donations, not from government or anyone else..
