We had one that lived until he was 25.

My oldest one was around 9 when he died from reoccurring dropsy. He's the one in my pic.

To the person who thought they had short life spans, goldfish can live for over 20 years if taken care of properly. The oldest on record I think was 42 or 43.

I had two that lived for 8 years and one that lived for 9.

I have three right now and 2 are about a year (that I've had them anyway) and the other one is a few months.

I have no idea how old any of my fish were when I got them.

Mines lived until she was 10 and she went through a lot- our cat knocked over the tank which was on a set of shelves. We found her about an hour later in a pile of books- but she was fine! I was gutted when she died.

mine said he is 7 and 3/4, although i think he looks more like 29 and a 1/4. But who am i to argue with a goldfish!

mine says he is 56 but ive come to think that he is a bit of a liar..he dont look a day over 30
