Orson is really good. They're american, but I think nobody knows them over there, I'm not sure. Snow Patrol is really really good too. The Fratellis with 'Chelsea Dagger' are awesome.

Pretty much every rock band is from the UK in Europe. Try the Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Def Leppard, Cream etc.
From mainland Europe try The Scorpions, Golden Earring, Rammstein.
