Polenth has listed some excellent sites. The first link on her list, the Tree of Life, is generally considered THE resource for taxonomic inquiry.

The University of Michigan's Animal Diversity Web may also help you out with some taxonomic information, as well as other data about various animal species.

It tends to be a little easier to search than the Tree of Life site, especially if you don't already know the taxonomic data you're looking for.
