I have two daughters who were both born by necessary ceseareans. I have since divorced and am seriously dating again. I would like to have more children one day and I was wondering if there was a limit on how many c-sections a woman could have in her lifetime? I had heard somewhere that three (3) was the most a woman's body can handle? Is this true or does anyone have a story to contradict this theory?

Ok: Here's the recommended & THE TRUTH!
Recommended: No more than 3 C-sections and HIGHLY recommend 2 years between each one.
The truth: I've had 4 in a 5 year span and my doctor told me that if I want I can keep on going (but i'm not crazy like that lol!)
It all depends on your body and pregnancies. You should be fine though! Good luck!

that is not true and you can have as many as you want the only downfall is your tummy muscles will be very stretched out but, as long as you get back into shape after birth you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I've worked in surgury for four years and I've seen some really weak muscles after 5 or 6 but it is still possible you just gotta work harder. Good Luck!

My Dr. has told me that 3 is about all that they will generally recommend. This is not to say that you cannot have more than 3, but for your own safety and the safety of your baby 3 is maximum. I too have had 2 necessary c-sections and plan to have one more. Good luck to you!

It depends on the "quality" of your utereus and the scars from the previous c-sections. One friend of mine has had 3 c-sections and her doctor told her she could have 2 more children and another friend has had 6.

Such an suited question when you consider that i became talked approximately as into paintings at a million:30 this morning to assist area a muddle of french bulldogs. She had 4 healthful domestic canines. that's her 2d muddle. Her first became additionally a c-area. properly there's a huge distinction between human and canines. people can't be regulated like canines. in the event that they have been many women people and adult men too could be sterilized so as that they could ought to furnish up producing babies that they could not look after. immediately, a woman can't be sterilized till she agrees to it era. So that's apples and oranges to me. i did not comprehend that the UKC (United Kennel club) became pondering this. i comprehend that the KC (Kennel club) in large Britain is pondering this proposition besides as proscribing litters too. that's inflicting extremely a stir on the puppy regulation lists that i'm on. I definitely have consistently felt that an element to soundness is the potential to reproduce and whelp of course. on an identical time as i'm a huge proponent of present day veterinary drugs, i've got faith that it has made many breeds weaker. before present day drugs by way of fact so effortless the breeders have been lots extra careful to reproduce in the direction of unfastened whelping in bulldogs, pugs, papillions, pomeranians, chihuahuas, etc. on an identical time as a c-area would not injury that categorical canines till there's a foul consequence, i've got faith that it does injury the breed. Any breed the place extra the 30% of the breed of the finished demands a c-area shows that there are characteristics being bred which at the instant are not in the suited interest of the breed as an entire. this potential that they are breeding canines for too small of length, extreme advantageous factors like super heads, and different strange characteristics. i've got faith that even the diverse so talked approximately as "stable" (conformation) breeders at the instant are not breeding for the betterment of the breed whilst the standard public of their canines can't unfastened whelp or breed of course. I won't bypass into the shortcoming of the working potential of many breeds.

My aunt has 5 children she had one natural and the rest by c-section. So i dont think its true unless your doctor says otherwise. Another aunt was only allowed 2 C-sections, but this was because they said she was 2 small and unable to have them naturally. Ask your doctor and see what he says.

The scar is at higher risk for seperating after three C/S's. However, many women do have more than three children and everything is fine...there is just more risk.
