No. Humans -- black, white, Asian ... everyone -- all share a common ancestor with apes, but aren't directly descended from apes. While apes and humans are closely related, they branched into different lines of descent millions of years ago.
It's likely that all humans started out with dark skin. According to the most accepted theory, humans evolved in Africa and then slowly migrated north into Europe and Asia and, eventually, to other continents.
Dark skin pigmentation served as a protection against the intense sunlight of Africa. As humans moved to colder parts of the world, the need for dark skin decreased and the pigmentation changed.

Is this a serious question????
I don't know how I feel about evolution (well, I do, but to keep from everyone hating me, I just keep it to myself.)
If it is true, though, then no, black people are not closer to apes than white people. First, you know, there are other races other than black and white. Second, although there are some minor differences, the anatomy of humans is all the same.
Also, the suggestion that blacks are closer to apes than whites is offensive in itself.

All humans originated from northern Africa. Over time different groups migrated from there to various parts of the world. The group that ended up in northern Europe developed pale skin. The primary reason was the differing amount of sunlight.
Africa is warm so people needed less clothing. Europe is cold so the exposed skin must process a lot more light in order to process vitamin D for the body.
All humans are descended from the same common ancestors. It is racist and factually incorrect to consider otherwise.
Consider watching more PBS science shows and less mass-market television.

All people are the same-gosh! It seems obvious that we developed differently due to where we lived and the weather/climate conditions. Just like animals. Its just like the diff between men and women, sometimes women are better, sometimes men, and that rule is always broken by individuals who just happen to be better than others, same with races and colors. As to creation- has it ever occured to people that God (or whatever you wish to name him) has no TIME? So if it took a second or a million years its all the same- both science and religion can be true. Besides, if Adam and Eve for example, were the first people, who did their kids marry? I prefer to think of them asa the first human that developed the ability to see their own souls and spirituality- that would raise them above the beasts and in that sense- kick them out of the garden. Animals live in a perfect, sinless cycle of life- theyare still in the garden in that sense- we have a choice.....Anyway-we are all related, so be a human!

In a word, no. If you're thinking about the dark skin that some apes have, there are also apes with white skin. Skin color is more environmental than evolutionary.

No. in fact, most apes have the same differences in skin color as humans. If you were to shave apes, some would have dark skin and some would have light skin.

Since Homosapiens did not come from apes and all H/S have the same ancestors the question is not valid.

No skin color variations are due largely to environmental factors and have nothing to with "Closeness to apes", we are all one species so we are all in the same place in the evolutionary timeline.

This is assuming that the theory of evolution is true. But the theory is gaining more holes than swiss cheese these days.
