rosemary, thyme, lemon thyme, garlic chives, sage, oregano, marjoram - What do you like to cook with? Anything that doesn't get too tall (fennel and dill do get too tall) can probably be grown indoors - they will need good light or sun though. You could also grow some leaf lettuce if you wanted to get ambitious.

sure, they specific can. i would not propose a plastic field, yet given suited drainage and watering, it extremely is finished. i've got for my area grown basil, thyme, and rosemary in plastic bins with large fulfillment. Terra cotta pots or pots made up of vegetable fiber are maximum suitable. Terra cotta is the suited, because it absorbs water, assisting drainage, and keeps that water for a while, which enables regulate the moisture content of the soil. Vegetable fiber pots do this additionally, yet are companies to mildew and mold in some circumstances. the suited draw back of plastic pots is they are air-and water-tight. in spite of suited drainage, the soil close to the facets of the pot can keep extra moisture than the soil in the middle, and this could reason root rot and different undesirable outcomes. There are 2 issues you're able to do to assist preclude those: at the start, use a greater plastic pot than you may a terra cotta or different pot. this could enable extra "risk-free" strengthen area the place the soil isn't constrained by using the plastic partitions of the pot. including some aerating substrate, which includes bark or coco coir to the mixture will help. 2d, you may perforate the facets of the pot with small holes to assist that soil shield a healthful moisture point. This, regrettably, gets messy whilst it comes time to water, yet very much reduces the flair for root rot etc.
