No it is not right to chare the DD i know I have gotten free beverages before for being the DD. Maybe you should consider going somewhere that offers free beverages.

I haven't heard of that. The only reason I can think of that they might charge you is because your taking up a space that a drinking person might be sitting in making money for the bar. I can't imagine charging anyone anything for water and especially someone acting responsibly.

It about their profit at the risk of other people's safety. Don't go back to bars that charge the deisgnated drivers for water.

That is ridiculous! Several years ago, I used to get soda for free for being the designated driver.

Nope - I'm usually the DD when I go out with friends because I don't drink. Most places will give you free soda and, I assume, water.

What ripoff bar charges for water? Was it a cover charge? If so, then you are not paying for the water but for entrance into the bar/club.
