when to transplant or move raspberry plants

You can do it fall to spring but the best time is now. Prune the branches back so there isn't a lot of damage to you or the plant during the move. Try not to disturb the root ball. And do not fertilize until spring.

I agree with Collegekid. Cut back the canes half way or so (don't leave more than 15-18"), and try to keep the root zone intact. You could use a starter fertilizer or bonemeal when you plant, but it isn't essential.

Water if needed this fall. In the spring apply an organic fertilizer such as ESPOMA 'garden tone' or 'tomato tone'. All you have to do then is sit back and watch.

Good luck-

DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE THE LITTLE BUGGERS WILL EASLY TRANSPLANT ANY TIME FROM FALL (AUTUMN) TO SPRING AS LONG AS THE GROUND IS NOT FROZEN, BUT BE CAREFULL, THEY MAY SPREAD!!!!!!!
