its depends on your location.
if you are from Alaska, USA then you need to go towards antarctic, but not up to that. mean UK is near north pole.
why you think about south pole?

That depends on how the question is phrased. Do you mean how far in miles, kilometers, etc.? And from where in the UK to what point on Antarctica? Just the closest points?
