b/c when you multiply by the recipricol of a number, the answer is 1.
for example, the recip of 1/4 is 4/1 (or just 4). Multiply them and you get one.
The recip of 2/3 is 3/2 b/c when you multiply them you get 1.
-1 as a fraction is -1/1. We need 1/-1 as the recip. b/c when you multiply them you get 1.
by the way, -(-1) is positive 1. subracting a neg is = adding a pos

A quick way to figure the reciprocal is write your number as a fraction and invert it. Or calculate 1 divided by x which will also give you the reciprocal.

Reciprocal is the number with numerator and denominator inverted... eg. 1/3 is the reciprocal of 3.

Another way to think of it. A number and its reciprocal always multiply to be 1:

1 x 1 = 1
3 x 1/3 = 1
2/5 x 5/2 = 1
-3 x -1/3 = 1
-2/5 x -5/2 = 1

And for your question:
-1 x -1 = 1

So the reciprocal of -1 is -1.

you are dumbass. the reciprocal of -1 isn't -1. because when u flip it you also change the sign so it is 1. I can't believe you'll think that the reciprocal of -1 is -1. It seem a lot of you'll need to go back to school

Reciprocal of 'x', when 'x' is any arbitrary number is 1/x.
Here x = -1. So the reciprocal is 1/x = 1/(-1) = -1

So -1 is correct.

Negative one is the reciprocal of negative one because 1/(-1) is still -1.

The reciprical is just the "flip" of the fraction you are working with. The fraction (-1) (really -1/1) when flipped is (1/-1) which is just (-1)

So your answer would be -1
