The people I know do not say that black people are stupid. Acting ghetto is not received well, but if that's how a person chooses to act, they are reducing the chance that they will make good impressions. Sure, Martin Luther King was smart and so are tons of other black people. If you are truly black, and not someone simply posing as a black person to give them a bad rap, you need to knock that chip off your shoulder and accentuate the positive, and move forward...

Acting ghetto becomes stupid when people purposely act this way. I've went to school with other Blacks who claim they are from the 'hood', when they live in million dollar houses, and have never even seen the ghetto. Idiots come in all races. Unfortunately, there's a lot of people who hold generaliztions for entire races, and it's up to us to prove them wrong. You don't even have to say anything, I've found just being yourself and doing your daily routine is enough to give them a reality check.

1. if gb is retarded and youre not, then why the hell arent you president?!
2. being someone whos traveled alot and has various groups of friends. i say that most black people treat whites as if they are stupid more than the other way around. trust me, im a young blonde white girl, who is quite intelligent. after a while people let that stereotype go that you "sum dum honkee white ripper" most my black friends at first thought of me as some ho, until i put theyre asses in check. it seems to me that MOST (not all) white people in my age bracket (20's-40's inner city) try to actually befriend, appease, and understand black people. trust me ive been on the street before and from your question, its the other way around.
3. alot (not all) black and black wannabe white kids think its cool to look uneducated and put down by "the man". and thats a load of bullshit. there too little rolemodels for kids out there that have grown up in the ghetto, faced hard times, and havetaught themself to conduct their person in an intelligent and serious manner.
i think its time to stop using the crutch of "whitey done us wrong" and start taking responsibilty and corrections for your own short comings. EVERYBODY GETS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!!!!!!
The blacks are no one special in this situation, we all face these problems in society.

Intelligence or lack thereof is NOT race based. However, it is true that persons of lower income (again, regardless of race) seem to be more interested in keeping their peers "with them." They want to pull down the overachievers who might have a chance to get out of the lower income area, bracket, or lifestyle. Why? I don't know.
It is also true that some black people try to prevent other black people from using their God-given brains by telling them that they are "acting white" when they do well in school or on tests. I have never done this myself, obviously, but I have actually overheard it being said. Why? I don't know.
In addition, it seems that there is a particular behavior trend among young people currently. They feel as if they have to act like persons from disadvantaged backgrounds who have not learned to overcome those backgrounds. They need "street cred." They dress like people who genuinely come from that sort of background. They feel the need to talk like the genuinely disadvantaged. They go so far as to act like the genuinely disadvantaged. They may come from a home with plenty of money, but they feel the need to follow this trend. I find that anyone trying to appear to be poorer and less polite and less intelligent than they actually are to be in poor taste. I find them sad, and pitiable. I cannot imagine wanting to present an image that is LESS than what you are.
The primary way to prevent people from saying YOU are useless is to refuse to BE useless. And that would apply to you just as much if you were black, white, or any other race. The primary way to avoid people making racial generalizations is to train your children never to do it, and never to do it yourself. Another good way to prevent racial generalizations is to refuse to be friendly with people (of any race) who make racial generalizations or slurs or any kind... against any race... at any time. Ever. Just like Dr. King.

Race has nothing to do with intelligence...people who are racist and homophobic dont have an intelligent bone in their bodies. Because racism is ignorant and unfortunately something that isn't gonna die...everyone experiences it at least once in their lives...and every race experiences it. and every race has their ghetto people. blacks got the thugs and ho's and whites have trailer trash...etc....and there is always gonna be someone who lives up to their stereotype its just up to us to beat it...by raising our kids right, doing the right thing, not letting anyone bring us down, and ignoring stupid racist comments, that goes for every race.

What you are stating is a "stereo type". There are stereo types about the southerners (because they speak slow are 'slow) or the white trailer trash, people who live in the mountains as in breeders, Poles as stupid, Irish as drunks, Americans as fat/lazy. It's everywhere.
Who are these people that are telling you this? Those who do believe these "stereo types" are the ignorant ones. It just shows how close minded and uncultured they really are.

It's MLK.........
I think it is stupid for people that were not raised in a particular environment to act as if they were. Race has nothing to do with the intelligence of an individual either, anyone that thinks otherwise...............is retarded.
