Really and truly I have met and listened to other Counselors and Doctors who are way more interesting and educated than him, but people literally think he hung the moon and no one is greater than the "Good old Doc" who rides Oprahs coat tail?????

Wow sounds like you don,t like him.
I think that Dr. Phil cuts through alot of mumbo jumbo and goes straight to the problem and the solution.
I think that he can be very direct but I think he is good at what he does .
Hes very entertaining with his quick wit and good ole boy way of speaking,and the public just loves him because of those things.
True Oprah gave him his big break but if he was not good at what he does (and that's helping people while entertaining us) he would be off the air and off the book shelves.

He's just one of many who have been one of Oprah's flavor of the month guests. They all seem to disappear in time. What I don't get is why his wife is getting so much attention. She's got a book out. That's about as logical as her overweight husband publishing a book on dieting which I believe he's being sued over.

Dr. Pil has one advantage that makes him very dangerous, you see, Dr. Phil is bald. No, seriously...bald people are taking over the world. I mean, have you ever gone to a basketball game? everyones bald. How about a mens locker room...need I say more? I'm half expecting Dan Akroyd to come around the corner walking his pet gornak beast ;-p

I agree with weedancers response, but also, he is hyped up a bit due to Oprah. As long as he helps people, that's all that counts.

Well- I think its his "tell it like it is" attitude.
What you see is what you get presentation.
Its simple, not dramatic and helpful to some.
I do enjoy some of his shows, yet I like Dr. Drew and other "Therapy shows" as well... even the crazy and poorly edited "Wife Swap" and "Big Brother" have tools for enhancement if they apply to you.
Ironically_ I have been "Screwed by mentally challenged Egomaniac Psychologist" that were basically drug pushers, "labels of conditions of diseases" and not productive behavior scientist. Let's just say~ I prefer lawyers.... lol

Dr. Phil is so blatantly honest. People don't want to hear the truth; but Dr. Phil delivers it so well.

Dr. Phil is a complete phony. He tailors his answers to a female perspective, and doesn't do anything other than tell these women what they want to hear. I believe he is doing considerable damage to gender dialogue.
He is a traitor to guys everywhere, and his fortune is built upon lies!!!!
