Why should he debate a terrorist?

You know of thousands of excuses that Bush made ? I don't know of any. I believe that you're getting Ahmadinejad mixed up with Kin of North Korea.
Bush will only debate Kim if the surrounding countries are in on the debate. They have more to gain or loose than us, so Bush wants them in. Also they're closely related and understand each others mind better.
Ahmadinejad, I wouldn't talk to such a liar and idiot. Everybody in the world knows about the slaughter of Jews by the Germans. It's all there for anyone to see. I saw a lot of it personally. But the Iranian idiot says it didn't happen. What a brain.

Good luck with that.

As the official government stand is Iran is a terrorist state, no president will ever be on the same stage as Ahmadinejad -no matter if this is good or bad policy.

Plus President Bush is not a strong extemporaneous speaker. Why would he possibly want to debate the Iranian president? Pres. Bush has nothing to gain politically.

Whether you like Bush or not, it's a bit on the churlish and definitely political immature to have a sitting global leader debate an other.

it has all been political posturing between bush and ahmadinejad. the unusual element is hardline conservatives positioned ahmadinejad in means after the bush axis of evil speech. he has no real means and the media in basic terms sensationalizes and misinterpets what he says to sell papers. he won't be re-elected and faster or later the U. S. will ought to speak with, not at,iran. meanwhile we are able to easily desire the U. S. or israel would not attack iran,it can be a stupid pass and could reason extra injury than stable in the area. check out lebanon,a democracy headed in a favorable direction, derailed by using the acts of hezbollah and israel. neither have been harmless.

What possible purpose would that serve? There is no reason for a debate. Just like there is no reason for your dumb question.

What would be the point, other than entertainment value?
It would be a waste of time & money (The President's and mine).

So far I have only heard one "excuse", as you put it.

We cannot recognize the Iranian government due to their desire to destroy our allies and US.
