If you mislead potential customers with your advertising, you will quickly be discovered. This is almost always worse than if you had no advertising at all. That is why advertising should always tell the truth, even if it is a very narrow form of the truth.

Why should they be ethical? Because you should get elected on your merits, rather than by criticizing and lying about the others who are running.
