You can get a job at any point in your life. If you are talking about College or High School Basketball I would do that instead.

has the NBA already drawn up the contract and has it ready for you to sign...if not, keep your job and fit basketball in after work and on your off days until it has a salary attached

or maybe you have a suga momma who can look out for you while you chase your dream

You keep both with the permission from your employer. Nowadays employers employ sportpersons only to play matches for the companys team. They are simply paid to play and practice and win matches and bring laurels to the company. They are given very light work also

keep your job unless you need an activity on a college application or you think you can get a scholarship out of it.
