My opinion, is that Joe Gibbs knows that he has a Super Bowl caliber team, and could go undefeated this season. But he's losing on purpose so the Redskins can execute a MAJOR comeback for dramatic effect. Why do you think the Redskins are intentionally losing?

Because they are starting a has been quarterback. Gibbs stays with older players long after they show they can not sustain a high level of play over a full season.

They're losing because they have a terrible owner. His strategy didn't work with players-finding the most expensive free agents to add to your team and expect to win. Doesn't work that way. Great teams are built through drafting young talent and developing them. Then his second mistake was acquiring all the big-name coaches and paying them big $$$. None of it has worked. Daniel Snyder needs to take a step back and look at teams that consistently win and see how they do it. The majority of teams that consistently win have a handful of big name players, and the rest are little known until they've been around 3-4 seasons and truly developed into playmakers. The Skins have basically did the opposite. Put up a ton of money to buy a ring. Must be sad to be the first win for the Titans, and getting beat at home, and by a rookie nonetheless. Can you say mediocre?

I think New Orleans will win the Super Bowl because the NFL wishes to reward the remaining citizens for surviving Katrina. New Orleans has never been 5-1 (Thanks Lil'MissSnshne) in its history.
As for the Redskins, the NFL is a vastly different place for Joe Gibbs from 1993. Players do their own thing and listen to no one.

this may be the worst theory i have ever read...they always look good on paper..but never produce..they are in no way shape or form playoff caliber let alone superbowl caliber...they definitely do not lose on purpose..they wont even win the nfc east, let alone make hte playoffs...so the real question is, will joe gibbs get fired before or after this losing season?

Losing on purpose, is that what keeps you going? i dont think they're losing on purpose, i think they're losing b'cuz they're not that good. . . c'mon, to lose to a team that was 0-5 (titans), that should tell you something.
Karpenisi, just an inside note, the saints are 5-1 not 5-0.
