I think his name should be in the dinner and bar conversations about it, but at this point I think he should be looked at as a candidate over the next few years. White and Slaton came out of nowhere last year and now they are running the table on teams that we (WVU) should be having trouble with. They can't be stopped. But try to get someone outside of the Mid Atlantic states to recognize Mountaineer Football and I will show you a diamond pig stuffed with twinkies. When White and Slaton lead the Eer's to another bowl win we might get some help in next years rankings. This will get their name in the news more.
The other thing, people can keep complaining about WVU's schedule but it is not our fault. You try and get Notre Dame to play you in the regular season and risk a DEFINITE loss when they are trying to get bowl eligible. Yeah, Marshall played Tenn. but Tenn. knew they would win that game, they don't know if they can beat WVU.
I'm hoping things change, and I think they will, we just have to wait lil brother.

relies upon extra on the hot WVU education team than on White, regrettably. I did see WVU trounce whoever they performed of their bowl-interest final twelve months without prosperous Rod, yet i've got heard too many undesirable issues approximately their new coach to be a hundred% particular that there heavily isn't an significant dropoff in the WVU application. If WVU is going in ordinary terms 8-4 or perhaps 9-3 next twelve months, White's possibilities of triumphing the Heismann are narrow to none IMO.

Troy Smith is beating him right now (17tds vs. Pat's 13). If Troy looks bad and loses in the Michigan game, and White looks great vs. Louisville, Pat could win it. I'm trying to think of other candidates but I'm not 100% up to speed. There's supposedly a guy from Northern Illinois that's contending, there's Ted Ginn, Steve Slaton, Chris Leak (might have took a hit with the loss).
There's a Heisman poll at the bottom of this site.

Pat White seems to be an excellent football player, but he's not a realistic candidate for the Heisman. There are 10-15 players better than him at the national level.
That's not a knock. West Virginia might be the best team. It's just that White isn't strong enough individually to compete for that kind of award.

Nope - if anyone on WVU should be there it's Slaton. Without Steve Slaton, no one nationally would ever hear about White & WVU wouldn't be ranked as high as they are.
Doesn't matter - it's Troy Smith's to lose & I don't see that happening.

I say no, but he might get some consideration if they beat Louisville really bad like they beat up on no-name teams. If he were a true QB he might get more national attention. If WVU had to rely on his arm to win a game, they might as well pack it up and head back for the charter bus.

WVU hasn't played anyone yet ...so I say no.
Plus...if anyone on WVU should get it, it should be Slaton
