Why is it that we have to label people? Why can't we all agree to disagree on some issues and respect everyone right to have an opinion? I am a Democrat....as my whole family has been since my grandparents came over on the boat from Europe. I am not however a liberal...although I admit that they do have some great ideas as do some republicans.
The process, the debates, the exchange of ideas is the most important part of our government...finding the best way to make things better for everyone takes an exchange of ideas and thought processes...it most certainly should cross party lines how else will we all be successful? You have to be willing to listen and HEAR what other people have to say. You don't have to agree (although you might if you give things a chance) but you have to respect their right and ability to have an opinion and voice it.

I'm a liberal and I only label people who are bigoted as bigots.
Why do you have a problem with a liberal stating an informed opinion?

Because that is such a DIRTY word in these days of political correctness that they use it to degrade those who are not of their beliefs. When I was a kid (ok, I'm dating myself), when I was angry at a playmate, I called them a communist. I had no idea what it meant, but I knew it was a bad word.
