I stayed at the Flying Pig Palace across from Vondel Park. It wasn't good. The staff was great. I arrived in Amsterdam a day early and they were completely booked, but they gave me a mattress to sleep on. The next day I got a room with full sized bunk beds (which is good if you need to share with a special someone) and they placed me in a room with a brand new bathroom. They had tons too chose from for breakfast (which is free. Toast, cereal, eggs, coffee, etc.

If you don't want to stay there, I suggest checking this website out.

Scroll all the way to the bottom where it says "Hostel Reviews" Click on the appropriate country and city and read the reviews of hostels. They revamped the website and the reviews are not listed so you have to click on the link where it says "go to the old bug website for reviews"

I suggest the Van Gogh museum, Heinken Tour, Anne Frank House, canal tour, chilling in Vondel Park (it might be chilly for that though), Going to the "Coffee Shops", Red Light District (Even if you are not into that kind of stuff, you have to check out the RLD just for the experience!) I even suggest wandering around Amsterdam just for the heck of it. The architecture is so neat! I love to look up at the crooked houses or just people watch. I am jealous and wish I was going back!

Have Fun!

DUDE!!

You're gonna be right in the middle of the big Rembrandt celebration. Get ready for lots of hi-brow types. The city will be mobbed - fun times!
