I just spilled red food coloring on my khaki pants. How can I get it out? Help please!

I love Shout! It seems to get everything out. Spray some on and wash your pants, but don't put them in the dryer unless all the food coloring is out. Re-do the Shout! and wash again.

There may be other home remedies that work (club soda took red wine out of a white pair of pants for me once), but the Shout! and not drying until it's gone works very well.

Good Luck!

If you have washed them already then it is too late the stain has already set. But if you haven't washed them yet this will work.. I got marker on my Khaki pants and it worked for me. It sounds funny but baby powder works. Put the baby powder directly on the stain then add some water to make a paste and just press it in gently do not rub.. wait for the paste to dry then throw it in the laundry.

Food coloring is a protein stain, so that it can stain food proteins. Chances are that your khakis have cotton in them, which are organic protiens, so very little chance of getting them out. You could try bleaching them, but it would change the look of the pants.

Food coloring is a water base. It should wash out easily but use a pre-treat first. Some kind of sray like Shout for example.

It will probably not come out...completely. There will always be some residue left. Best bet is to use them for painting and get a new pair.
