I agree to have abortion in cases where it would save the mother's life, or if the mother is charged with a crime, or other "extreme" cases. but is it ok to give abortion rights to some stupid teenager who knows he/she should use contraception, but since they want the fun they chose not to use it? people know well enough about the risks. I just know you lefties will answer me with a broken condom scenario, -to this i say that anyone can use a broken condom as an excuse, and if the condom REALLY did break then thats life, use pills. abortion shouldnt be a permission slip for stupidity.

I agree except Mother's life is often stated as in our state
Mental & Physical Health. A rape victim should not have a relive rape for 9 months until delivery - it is the mental part of health.
People who do not want to wear a "little raincoat" made their choice to have a baby. We all know where they come from & if we are careless then look into adoption if you do not want the baby.
Yes BABY, no one comes up to you & says "I am having a fetus", all my friends said & say "I am having a baby". 4 weeks pregnant or 30 weeks pregnant. Only someone justifying an abortion or doctor trying to make a patient who lost baby feel better use the word "fetus".

When we accidently hit a car, they still call it a collison on our car insurance. Responsibility belongs to us not society.

It would be irresponsible to put these kids in with these same irresponsible teens. Passing them off to an adoption service only leads to another horror show for this kid. Alot of those so called adoption services aren't much better than puppy farms. Abortion is an absolute necessity to keep the population from exploding ask china. I don't know what drives you to care about people who have yet to be born. I suspect it has something to do with an religious holier than thou attitude with an I know whats best chaser.

It's the conservative's kids that are having the abortions because lefty parents tell them it's immoral to have a child thru wedlock. It's all of those guilt trips.

It's the conservative who don't want sex education taught in the schools. Yet the closet cases have porn hidden in their closets.

Face it sex is a reality. I'm sure you weren't planned!!

In my lifetime, I have know several teenagers who have faced this problem of an unexpected pregnancy. I don't know a single one who opted for abortion. In every case I know, the girls parents adopted the child. Only in the most extremely disfunctional family would abortion be considered.
You are making you argument with assumptions only. I seriously doubt if you can come up with a single instance of your own knowledge that fits your scenario.

I won't use the "broken condom" scenario.
I'll simply ask why you are so concerned about controlling the reproductive rights and options of other women? What business is it of yours?
The Supreme Court of the US has ruled that abortion is legal, and is the woman's choice. Why can't you stop trying to control women's lives contrary to what the court has ruled? Are you so obsessed by what sexual activities other people are doing that you just MUST know all the details and control the outcome? IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS what reason the woman has, and that is backed by the highest court in the land. Get over it.

What I can not understand about the Republican party is the conundrum a young pregnant girl facing this choice finds her self facing two social ills by the republicans.
(1) If she has gotten the abortion she has offended the party
(2) I f she has the child and has to draw welfare to support the child she is stigmatized by the morals of the republican party.
Like it or not women face a very heart wrenching decision here and Government sanctioned morality is not the answer.

If it's a sin to have an abortion, then its a sin for rich people to buy children from women who act as their 'womb' for them. Just remember, you can't pick and choose which commandments you want to follow, because you don't sound anything like Jesus Christ. You sound like the women with 'tinkling feet' who run from house to house meddling in other people's business. Remember what happens to them? Something like the foolish virgins. How dare you seek to meddle in other people's relationship with GOD. You have NO right, and no moral leg to stand on. Better go back and read your bible again, if you ever have.

Then why is your party also constantly blocking initiatives to make birth control available, or at least teach the kids how it works? If you want to reduce abortions then start there. Bush wants to push abstinence only programs at the same time he's trying to outlaw abortion. That defies logic.

absolutely not! I'm pro choice but only for rape victims, incest, mother's health, things like that... you can't want one and not the other... it doesn't work like that -I do not believe a woman should have an abortion because she's irresponsible, there are other alternatives... but in order to protect the women for what I feel are the right reasons.. it has to be legal for anyone too... It's a necessary evil

You claim that people know well enough about it.
How can people know well enough about it when the religious conservative nutcases have eliminated all education programs for this subject to teach young teenagers how not to get pregnant beyond "just don't do it"

conservatives do not get to choose what people can and cannot do in their private lives. deal with it.
