Growing up they didn't get enough attention from their parents so now they try to get it anyway they can. It's sad that they have to pay $10,000 to get any attention.
Harley Davidson riders are worst. They pay $20,000 for that attention.
The ones that don't rev their engines are the ones who are actually out there to ride.

revving the engine actually comes from WW1. the planes throttles were wide open all the time and the only way to control engine speed was to cut the ignition. it sounds like they're revving the engine up and down. after WWII a lot of pilots bought motorcycles and i think the habit stuck. people, don't forget a Harley or Indian "bob job" was the crotch rocket of its time. all in all its pretty annoying and doesn't do anything other than annoy

In most cases, yes, it's just a jerk sounding his mating call.
However, in a very few cases, with a highly tuned race bike, sitting at a traffic light or creeping through rush hour traffic can cause the engine to load up and make it try to stall or run poorly when you do get going.
Pulling in the clutch and giving it a few quick revs can clean it up and get it running properly again.
Also, most race-ready sportbikes have extremely tall gearing, so you have to rev the bike and slip the clutch a bit to get going from a dead stop.

They are sure it makes them look cool. Probably even when they are at home and trying to fall asleep in bed they are still yelling "VROOM VROOM." It is an essential part of the image for them.

It's called "tuning by throttle."
But as was stated before, haven't grown up yet. Kinda like the guys who are "parking lot pimps."

they are idiots or they wouldn't be on a croth rocket. On a Harley they recommend a little rev once in awhile to put an extre shot of oil through it because they have a lower oil pressure, some idiots don't know that either
