Forget all the other great pretenders, this site is the dogs swingers. You can leave a special message for Santa (kids only but I'm sure most adults leave their wishes to) - The list can be as long as you like and there's a link for gift ideas for the whole family....

It's not exactly a wish-list site but the ChristmasGiftIdeaGuide.com has been designed for friends and family to easily find stuff they might like as gifts...a simple way to use it is to copy the link (URL) of a gift you like and email it to whoever you want.

As far as family is concerned, I think It would be easy when everyone gets together for Thanksgiving..Our big family always put everyones name in a hat for adults, then one for the kids....Everyone gets to pull a name out and that is the person you buy for that christmas.....If someone is missing, then have a child pull out a name and decide which adult gets that person....A dollar amount of $25.00 each is usually decided on.
Everyone's name on the paper also included two things they wished they had.....No promises were made...........have fun..

Amazon.com has a wish list option. You can browse the sight and add items to your personal wish list, or create wish idea lists where you can add items that you think your friends and family might want. They can also create their own wish lists, which you can browse and order from.

Most large department stores like Maceys (usa) and Harrods here (uk) hold wish lists for wedding presents, try some of those.

HSN has a Wishlist option. You just save the items that you want in it. For other members to look at it they just type in your phone number and password.

Walmart and Teget are great. You can go to the website and print it out then go to the store to buy.
