As far asI know no they don't. have heard alot of people say if they use there legs to young they can go bull legged but, as my doctor told me with all 4 of my children. That is not true. He told me that there legs are like that and using them actually helps to straighten them out. Becaus ethey are stretching and flexing the muscles like they are suppose to. Like I said before I have four children and they all loved being upright at an early age in bouncers, jumpers, walkers and excersaucers none of them have bowl legs. Hope this helps you out. Have a nice day.

My son is now 2 and he used the exersaucer...absolutely no problems...he started walking at 13 months. As a kid my brother and I had jolly jumpers and we have no problems either and that was 35 years ago

I'm not sure about Excersaucers, but my son's physical therapist gave us some pamphlets about the jumpers and walkers that were eye-opening.

When a baby is in a walker or jumper, they're on their tip-toes and only stretch/ use the front leg muscles. To walk properly, both the front AND back muscles of the leg need to be used. Basically you're training your baby's muscles to move in a way they will rarely be used and not giving them the motor skills they will need for the rest of their lives. It's kind of like teaching your son to do backflips but not toilet training him- kind of amusing for a little while, but not useful in the long run.

If you've got an average kid, 15 minutes a week probably won't cause lasting damage, but won't help much either. Try a playpen instead.

Like KM pronounced portion of the rationalization why human beings say to no longer use a walker at this age is using the threat of bumping into issues or falling down stairs. at 3 months a walker could supply a baby extra flow and freedom than they're waiting for. the aptitude for harm is greater. additionally- many medical doctors do no longer propose a walker at any age. they are asserting that they could put off strolling instrad of helpingI debated the walker/exersaucer situation while my daughter develop into 5-6 months. Her pediatrician develop into no longer massive on walkers and that i found out that they have got been being banned on the marketplace in canada as a results of fact they're considedered dangerousI'm no longer canadian however the situation did situation me. We ended up getting a walker for domicile and an exersaucer for grandmas. It woked out nicely. She develop into strolling by way of 11 months and enjoyed enjoying in her walker. I felt she develop into risk-free and continually stored watch over her. She additionally enjoyed her exersaucer and nevertheless makes use of it even although she would be in a position to stroll. She only loves to take a seat down in there any play with the toys. She's 13 months now.

My kids used both. They are now 4 and 1. We did not have any problems. I suppose if you leave them in there for extended periods of time it could be a problem. I say let them have some fun and give you a break too!!

Since they are not putting all of their weight on their legs I would think no. Ive heard this but then so many people say its not true. My first used a Jumperoo and loved it.. my second is using it now. Its mainly for entertainment purposes.

Bowleggedness is caused by your child standing before their legs are ready to support their body weight. Once they get to 5 months, they should be ok. At 6 months, you are nearing crawling stage. Need to build up strength in those legs.

In rare cases yes. If you keep the child in it for hours upon hours a day it can interfere with development. This is in cases of neglect where the child is placed in them all day every day. As long as use them for short periods a day you needn't worry :)

Most babies are born bowlegged. Exersaucers are very good for babies and help them with development. My kids loved it.
