The Welsh question was directed at a Welsh (British) person who reckons that the English never murdered any Welsh people!

The question was not directed against the English people of today (as some seem to think). It was just a point of information.

The above question is another point of information. I would ask the person who stated the above to read world history for this time.
South Africa comes to mind and also Ireland!

Yes the past is the past! That doesn't mean it didn't happen!

England had its bloodbath heyday in these turbulent years... we enslaved more countries, stole their natural rescources, divvied up their lands...and sold on what we discarded...

for we are a sovereign nation.

and as a passing point, why dont our ex colonies hate us as much as everyone despises the yanks, whove done pretty much the same thing?

answer; we allowed them, the inhabitants of squalid shanty town countries to become part of the commonwealth, with all the privelidges and protections enshrined within its constitution.

we educated them, fed them, worked them to death for 40 years, and freed them, with title and free passage.

the last time we lost a war, america was still upto its knees in mud and shi t. throwing smallpox blanket to the american indian families, who were freezing (because they'd been moved on from their ancestral homes) and starving because bufallo bill had just killed over 30000 of these magnificent beasts... to starve the indians into submission... thats the way boys..uncle shams way, glock n load. truly honourable...NOT.

we can win a war 8000 miles from home, against superior numbers, with over 70% of our infrastructure blazing on the gallahad and the atlantic conveyor... we marched with full kit, to stanley and kicked *** all the way..

1200 year on, and were still in the top 5... for 1150years we were at the top of the pile... how quickly the world forgets... we werent cruel, we were brutal...

You are talking bullshite!

I am Welsh. 100% Welsh.

And I can tell you - as a graduate in Welsh history - that the English did not "murder" the Welsh in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The NORMANS (ie French) invaded Wales in the 13th Century.

The "English" did NOTHING to the Welsh other than some of them exploited the coal seams and iron seams in the 18th and 19th centuries. There were greedy people in the UK then and there are greedy people here now. It makes no difference if they were "English" or not!

Many of my best mates are English. they are lovely people. They have great respect for Wales.

People like you make me sick.

You are a very very sad man with a serious "problem" against England. You obvious got dumped for a better looking Englishman or something.

Get the **** over it will you! I am sick of you posting ill -informed SHITE on this website about what the "English" have supposed to have done to the Welsh. I'm Welsh. i know what I'm talking about.

If you have proof then describe to me one occasion of "the English" "murdering" the Welsh.

Otherwise shut the **** up about a subject you obviously know nothing about.

You complete idiot!

You are of course joking. The Brits were the first to set up concentration camps in South Africa. They provoked the Indian Mutiny in 1867 when they introduced grease covered cartridges which had to be bitten before loading. They told the Muslims it was beef fat, and the Hindus it was pork fat. No respect for other religions there then. And yes, the disaster surrounding the potato blight and the inhumane treatment dealt out by English absentee landlords.
I have a suggestion: when England, and I do mean England, not the UK, admits to the misdoings during the 18th and 19th centuries, then the Turkish Republic can admit to excesses against the Armenians perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire.

Its amazing how history repeats itself! The dominant country in the world is always envied and pulled apart by jealous and inferior countries! I bet most of the english bashers here, also have a go at the usa! Yes england did some things that were bad, but who was the leading force in abolishing slavery? who has invented and given more to the world than the english? Anyone ever heard of the industrial revolution? Oh, and while we 'let' hitler walk into jersey, we didnt readily wave the white flag like the rest of europe! nor did we think that cos the french had sold us a few exocet missles we could take on a far superior country 8000 miles to the north who then kicked there butts!!

Of course the English murdered the Welsh, like-wise they slaughtered us.... I can remember only 20 years ago if an Englishman bought a cottage in Wales the villagers would burn it down...

I hear what you say and throughout history there are the wrongs of many , but your anger would be better directed at the atrocities being committed today

The English were at their very best during those centuries. Compare them with the English of today. Today the English are wimps! They have lost the thirst for Empire that made them so great during the 18th and 19th centuries. That's why the role of Superpower has passed to the US. The danger is that America's liberal Democrats want to transform us into the same wusses that the English are today.
