I don't think this website was designed by the government, but I bet that since its start, the government has workers monitoring this site and asking questions, too. Why wouldn't they? I think a lot of things are being monitored. People are conformists because that is human nature. Ever feel lonely? That is a biological red flag telling you to go find other people and be with them, even if it takes being like them. Ever notice that if you don't have anything in common with the group you are trying to be a part of, that they really don't wish your prolonged presence? And you don't like being around weird people, you just want to be around people with similar interests and opinions as you do, like your friends and family....people you have "conformed" to. Keep in mind that the government is generally a good thing although there will always be corruption. But its just a balancing act within the system itself that you don't really have to get bent out of shape over. Things you see in the news, or read in the paper. You can never really know for sure if it is real or not..but the good thing is..is that you don't have you. Try not to worry too much about it. Its good to stay involved though. Good luck in figuring that stuff out.

We as a human race are programmed from birth. Man is to love woman and when they do they are to have children, Live in the white picket fenced house with a dog. We are tought to have fun we need to play video games. Need I remind people that children in third world countries are so happy to have a ball to play with let alone video games. Parent's are taught to be a good parent you have to do this this and this and if you dont your a horrible parent. The goverments tell you when you can cross the street, the speed limit allowed and what level of alcohol your allowed to have in your system in your own private residence or they can arrest you. The reason why people confrom is because they are scared! Scared of the unknown and of course scared of the different. Imagine that back in the late 1800's or so that a scientist could be killed if he believed the world was round and NOT flat. So secret groups are formed and so on and so forth. In order to be different and be safe at the same time MOST people have to HIDE nobody want's to hide their whole life away so they confrom so they can live out in the open breathing the air and smiling and laughing but inside they are dying mostly because they can't be themselves out of the fear to conform.

I think most people conform because they simply want to fit in and it's easier to go with the flow than to fight it. I also totally agree with you that the federal government is monitoring us simple mortals....spending a small forturne doing so I'm sure. I resent it a lot and can only hope awareness increases and the next administration is more responsible and things start to take a turn for the better. They have their work cut out for themselves.

actually I am not controled be anyone I am my own person. I do n't follow the rantings of men such as scientific theories. dinosaurs living millions of years ago. the big bang theory. man coming from apes. i don't conform to the way the government has taking away the rights, and brain washed the parents into thinking paddleing and spanking our kids is wrong. dr. spok should have been beheaded, before he was able to deliver the speaches about spanking being wrong. a man told me with a government agency he asked me rather, do you have a tv in your bed room? I said yes. he said before you and your wife go to make love cover the tv with a towel or something. well what does that tell ya. he said they watch you through the eye for the remote on the tv.I don't follow the laws of the land to a t. I follow them just enough to keep them out of my buisness. I spank my kids! I get drunk in public! I speak what is on my mind in front of authority or not! to hell with them.

There are several answers to that, first i´ts the human nature to survive. Then other things are what you are writing about, to programme people, people are so afraid of making the wrong choices, so they just follow the crowd, everybodys cheering on the winner, nobody wants to be left out all alone.

I agree with "Zebra4," people are sheep and want to be part of the flock, so they follow instead of lead. People are afraid to stand out or stand alone. While there are some who stand firm on their own convictions, we suffer a lot of prejudice and disdain. But if we know who we ultimately answer to, then power on!!

It's very simple: Most people are sheep--they are most comfortable (feel the safest) following with the flock.
