Any of these, or a combination, will work (pick the one more suitable to your wife's personality):
Wash the dishes.
Change the bed clothes nd spray some of her favorite parfum/essence.
Cook for her, serve dinner with candles if you have (and then do the dishes!).
Take her for a ride/walk around the city/town, in a nice area or with a view.
Stop in a place were you can just lie down to see the sky if it is clear.
Tell her that you love her (if you reall do) and that you want to do something to encourage her.
Tell her what you like of her (beautiful, sweet, hardworker, good cook, her hair, skin, anything you really appreciate). If you find some combination of appearance and personality (eyes and smart, for example), better.
Spend an evening having some drinks/snack, whatever you have in the fridge and is suitablefor a sitdown and chat as friends andbout any funny/interesting/new thing.
Give her a massage.
Phone a radio station and dedicate her a song.
If you know, play some musical instrument, write a song and sing, or just play on a CD and have a dance.

I think the sweetest thing to do is to make a little trail with paper and make them look like foot prints or something for her to follow like flower pedals if you have them, have them follow to the dinner table. Make her a candlelit dinner pick some flowers (maybe from the neighbors yard). Make sure the house is spotless and if you have kids ask a relative to watch them (they are usually free). Make her a card (they are so much better than a card that is bought from a store it just means more). And then afterwards run a nice bubble bath and have candles ready in there and spend some quality time together.
Or if you dont want to be that extravagent just do some simple chores that you dont normally do. Make her a card and let her know that you appreciate her in every way.
Make her some jewelary or something out of paper you dont have to have money to feel like someone is thinking of you, this would promt her to know that you may not have the money to buy her the world but if you did you would and that you think about her.
Put cute little notes like I love you in places that she may not look in everyday and its a fun little surprise when your not expecting it at all. Like maybe her glove comparment box in her car or tuck into a shirt in her closet one that she wears a lot.

Depends on what she appreciates, as it may be different for all women. So may like you to sit down without distractions and talk about her day. She may want her feet or back rubbed. Or you could have the house straightened up, or a meal being prepared. Or if there has been an errand that she has been asking you about, do it for her and let her knnow that you did it. I would say read the Five Languages of Love, it is really insightful, and has tons of ideas.

have the house clean and dinner made... feed the kids (if you have them) early or have them spend the evening out and set the table for 2 to make it more romantic, and then make the evening all about her... but on a day to day basis? doing basic chores around the house is always good, I.E. do the dishes after dinner a few nights during the week, fold the laundry, etc. offer to rub her feet or give her a massage... or even just let her watch her girly show without complaint...

You could take care of the house while she's away, cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. Doing the things you'd normally expect her to do so she wont have to says a lot. Draw her a hot bubble bath and pour her a glass of wine and let her relax. That shows you appreciate what she's doing out there.

How wonderful that you love your wife so much that you want to please her! I like the cooking idea, with candlelight and soft music playing in the background. Take her to the mall and window shop with her. Go to your local
Humane Society and pet animals up for adoption. Go hiking and pack a picnic lunch. Most orchestras give free performances from time to time. Take her to a local high school football game. Give her a message and make love to her and tell her how much you love her and cuddle afterward. Best of luck to you both!

I can't remember the last time my hubby had a hot bath waiting for me when I got home. I know I'd be very encouraged if he did.

Make a nice Dinner for her then after a glass of wine by the fireplace suggest she get a better paying job or maybe work two jobs!!

Well you can cook dinner for her, run her a hot bath, give her a full body massage, clean the house, do the laundry the list is endless.......Just think of what she does around the house and find the one thing she hates the most and do it for her.
