Find out if there is a local chapter of IBI Global near you. It is a national organization of entrepeneurs, venture capitalists, and successful businessmen that help novice businesses and inventors get their programs going. Participation in local chapters is free and can be very helpful. It's a good first step to see if you want to move to the next step at the national forums.

The national forums charge for participation. The week long forums introduce you to the REALLY big national/international movers and shakers in a wide variety of industries, as well as people with money looking for investment in promising projects. And because of their status, these participants also know a whole lot more people and will be very willing to make any introductions to someone with the background you need. They have a VERY strict confidentiality code by which everyone must adhere. Once you have attended the national forum, you have access to a wide variety of member experts in business from that day forward.

There are classes at these forums where you are taught what you need to do to create and launch a project/business. My husband described his experience as being what an MBA in business should be...but isn't.

It's a great organization. They have been extremely useful in helping my husband move forward with his invention. He can't speak highly enough about them...and he was very skeptical going in to it.
