I have been on birth control pills for most of the past 9 years. Recently, my fiance and I split up and in my depression, I stopped taking my pills (not intentionally, just couldn't remember to do it. I was living in a haze). About a week after we split we saw each other again and had sex twice. I started taking my pills again immediately but read that that would only control my cycle and not prevent pregnancy. Since I am back on my pills, there are still a couple more weeks until my period. What are the odds I may have gotten pregnant, and do I have to wait until my period to find out?!?!?!

ETA: yes, I know I should take a test, but will it give an accurate result 2 weeks before my next period is due? My real question is what are the odds I could be pregnant, and are there any HPT that I can take that will give me an accurate answer this early?
And for those of you who judge me, I am neither young nor stupid. But congrats on your mistake-free life. you must be very proud.

yes it's possible but it really depends on how your body works. some women get pregnant very easily while others don't. don't drive yourself crazy with the "what are the odds" question. that's not going to change anything. wait to see if your period comes and go get a blood test done.
also, you haven't done anything that any other woman hasn't done. we all make mistakes. so don't let any negative comments bring you down. you have enough on your mind. Good luck :)

Yes, you definitely could be pregnant. Your risk increases every time you miss a pill and once you've missed 3 all bets are pretty much off. You shouldn't even be taking it right now given the strong possibility of pregnancy (it can harm a developing embyro.) I'd stop taking them and use a barrier method until you either get your period or determine that you're pregnant. If you aren't you can start up again as either a Day 1 starter or a Sunday starter, whichever makes sense to you.

Of course you could be pregnant. Especially if the ones that you missed were about two weeks after your last period was. a single pill is only designed to last for 24 hours. That is why they tell you to take them at the same time everyday. If you even have a remote question that you could be pregnant, stop taking the pills until you get confirmation one way or the other. And if you have to have sex...use other precautions.

Even the pill could have its defects. you need to take all of them without lacking an afternoon and nevertheless become pregnant. 7 days in simple terms makes that probability bypass even larger. sure you need to be pregnant. Take a attempt once you're era is overdue or would not teach. stop having unprotected intercourse as you're actually not in basic terms putting your self in risk of being pregnant, yet STDs.

slow down, you must be very young are u thinking if you are maybe you will get back together. First, pills dont protect against STD's so first you should be worrying about while you were broke up who he or you were sleeping with and go get tested for STD's and about the pregnancy thing first miss a period then get online and ask another stupid question. Responsible people should only have sex and according to your silly question you aint ready. I pray you aren't pregnant for the child's sake

There is a chance that you can be pregnant if you are still worried there is a test that can be bought in any chemist that can predict 4 days before your period is due. take the test twice to be certain . good luck.

there are VERY good odds that you arent, since it ususally takes a while to get the chemical out of your system, but there is still a good chance you are. i would go to the dr right away and get some blood tests. if you are, you dont want to hurt the baby by taking the meds, if you would keep the baby at least.
