my systemis working with xpsp2...by mistake i logged into my pc in safe mode in command prompt..now every time i start my pc ablack window is opened entitled cmd.exe ..wianing for acommand which idon't know!!!iwant my system back can any one help???
N.B i used f8 key & it met with no succuess

OK. All I can say is each option so far sounds iffy. You need someone on site (in the room) who has experience to restore your CPU. A wrong move can put you in really deep water, especially if you do not have the System Restore disks or the WIN XP SP2 install disk.. I have some knowledge on the subject, but without a way to get the original system back, I would let someone else to do the job.

See if you can remove cmd.exe from your startup folder and the problem will go away without needing a restore.

Removing a shortcut from a folder does not sound iffy to me. The poster mentioned that her system was working fine until she booted in safe mode's command prompt. Now she receives a command prompt - what if she simply typed "exit" - no quotes. Unless there is more to the question and we are not Internet mind readers....

No way if you Don't know Repairing with the Installation CD. I reinstalled when it happend to me. Its Better to use Notran Ghost Like Softwares to Back up ur C drive Always'

to do system restore, you go to start > help and support. and then find system restore on the list.
