A flash mob is a group of random strangers coming together to do something random. Events have included exchanging books, coming together to look at the sky and then disappear and other really uninteresting stuff. However if you feel the need to organise one here's what you do.
1.Come up with an idea. it should not be illegal just random (for example go on mass to a park sand hug a stranger). Preferably the idea should be slightly beneficial like the swapping of books.
2. Email your friends and tell them to email everyone they know (include work and college intranets). Like a circular email it should reach many people.
3.Don't take acknowledgement for anything (this is not about you, it is about the event)
4. Make the event a brief thing (it's a flash mob not a prolonged meeting mob)
5. Plan in advance so that the mob has time to gather people
6. Have the event
7. Realise it's quite boring

I havn't seen a Flash Mob forever ... I didn't even have a name ... I guess it's all done throught e-mail. I always wanted to do a Flash Mob where everyone acted like Ducks ... guess I've watched too much humor on hypnosis ppl (giggle).

There are better things to do with your free time, like riding a bicycle and get mugged, go for a walk in the park and get mugged again or go to the pub and get mugged yet again!

i heard about one where a whole bunch of strangers went to the grass by the london eye, all carrying an umbrella and a banana. then all at once they opened their umbrellas, and then they ate their bananas. then they dispersed. i think it's such a wonderfully anarchic but beautiful idea. i hope yours goes well.
