They sell leather cleaner at most Timberland stores that can be rubbed on. Remove as much of the dirt as you can with a thick cloth then use their product. It's best to use a sealant on afterward that helps them repell most dirt and water.

You need a good cleaning agent, water and an old toothbrush. First scrub the shoe gently with the toothbrush, using only water. Leave the water to sink in so that the shoe gets moist. Then scrub in the cleaning agent gently, until all the dirt starts coming off. A final scrub with water should leave it good as new.

Put them in a metal container and place them in the microwave for 5 minutes. The metal will absorb the dirt from the fibres. Once that has been done put them in a boiling pan full of water and banananskins.

let them dry out then brush as much of the dirt off as poss. then spray with a suede shampoo sparingly wipe off with a clean cloth if the mark still wont come off let them dry and try again next time spray with protector before you wear them.

I put mine in the washing machine. Honest, but not the tumble drier. On a delicate wash, and once dry, spray with scotch gard
