It ties them to nature, relaxes them, comforts them, makes a good Friend. It is a good teaching tool for children. A child who learns to take care of animals will learn to take care of himself and others. If a pet dies it will teach a child about death, so when a human dies in their family they will understand death.
When an Animal has babies it will teach the child about life.
And usually the way a person treats their pet is the way they will treat people. If I see someone abuse their dog I stay away because they might abuse people to. The only things serial killers have in common, this is fact, is that they all tortured animals in their youth.

People need pets because they will listen to you and will always be your friend. They will never betray you. They are a friend that you will all ways have.

They find something unusual in them and their heart strikes to pass life with them because they become companion and always are ready to perform such action through which they prove their faithfulness.
