Is the shed heated? If not, no you can't. If the interior of the shed gets below 32 it could kill the banana.

I can't give you a specific answer, but I had a similar experience. My old Italian landlord in Chicago had several fig trees in the back yard. Each fall he dug them up, burlapped the rootball and stored them in his unheated garage where it got to be a whole lot colder than MD, I assure you. In spring he re-planted them and harvested ripe figs in summer. What works for the fig may work for the banana....
