It's typically caused by one of two things.
1. Your tires are out of balance. This will cause a slight wobble at a set speed depending on how out of balance they are.
2. Your wheel bearings are going bad.
Either way, you should have your car checked out asap as it will cause uneven wear on the tires and do damage to the bearings and associated parts.
I'd start with a wheel balancing since it is the cheapest and most companies do it free if you by tires from them. My tires have a lifetime balancing. Even if you have to pay, It's usually pretty cheap and you can have them rotated at the same time to save money down the road.
Rotate and balance should run about 50 bucks. Bearings will run a couple hundred.

I don't know your car, but I can tell you about a similar experience I have with mine. I have a 1971 Super Beetle that shakes at 45-50 MPH. I feared the Ty rods were bent and would cause an accident. Though I asked 3 different VW mechanics about it and was told by all 3 that the Super beetle was known for that and nothing was really wrong. I just had to get used to it once I knew I was safe.

I had a 70 Chevy Chevelle that had a broken speedometer. It always stopped at about 130. It wouldn't go any faster. I know I could feel the car still pickng up speed though. If I could have only gotten those brakes working, I would have taken it to california with me.

I have had the same problem before. Balancing did not help, or alignment, or front end checks. The type of tire was the problem. One of them was out of round or the belts had shifted. I bought new tires, even though the ones I had looked good and the problem went away. Try balancing first.
