formated the C drive only, but files r in the G drive.No passwords were used, only encryption option from Properties>advanced used. Please elaborate on the encryption package.PLEASE HELP.

If you have chosen to encrypt them, you will need the password and the encryption / decryption package that you used to do so. There is no way to decrypt them without this (unless you have access to an NSA computer, for example.

The answer that you are looking for is this you can not open these files on any other drive because the encryption key was on the disc that you formated. That is the beauty of encryption no one else can read your stuff without your password.

After formatting, you won't be able to open anything, because formatting erases the drive.
