Don't know about crowling but they start crawling anywhere between 7 and 12 months. Not all babies crawl - some bum shuffle and some go straight to walking.

Babies will crawl whenever they decide they want to, regardless of what parenting books might say.
Do not get discouraged by other parents saying, "well, my kid started crawling when he was 4 months old...etc." Every baby is different. Some babies don't even crawl. They go straight to walking!
Just work with your child around 6 months. Put a toy far in front of them and encourage them to come for it. It's easiest if they are in the sitting position, because they can roll forward onto their hands and knees.
Finally, don't rush it. Enjoy the fact that your baby CAN'T crawl all over holy creation and you have to chase them and watch them like a hawk!!!

I looked in Wikipedia and couldn't find anything about Crowling. There is a Crowle in Lincolnshire, but I don't see the relevance.

Crawling is actually not even a milestone on standardized developmental charts. Some babies rarely or never crawl. Others develop more of a scooting or rolling way to get where they want to go. If a baby is going to crawl, his/her skill will generally peak between 7-10 months.

It all depends all babies are different. Some babies never crawl they go straight from scooting to walking. And the others who do crawl I would say between 6-9 months of age. My daughter started to crawl at about 6 months old and now at 10 months old she walks. But all babies are different

Do you mean Crawling around 6 months. Some people tend to slouch but that is normal behaviour from 0-80 years old.

All babies are different, but usually around the ages of 7/8/9 months. But once they crawl, it's not long before they are up and walking. Then you wish they couldnt. They'll do it when they feel they want too. xx
