Have you discussed this with your gynecologist? You should always get their advice. My doctor analyzed my period chart and put me on chlomid to help me ovulate because I wasn't regular throughout my life except for when I was on the pill, which made me have a period.
If you have regular periods and are sure about the date you ovulate, then you need to have sex possibly 3 days before you ovulate, then again on the day of ovulation. Or, if only once is possible, the day before is best.
Consider buying a fertility monitor. I bought the ClearBlue Easy fertiility monitor for $200, including the test sticks. On the first month of using it, I got pregnant. It taught me that I was not trying on the right days. I had charted temperatures, looked for all the signs and apparently had been trying on the wrong days for about a year.
Best of luck.

Have either of you been to your doctors to find out why nothing is happening.
Age, health etc all influence conception and sometimes there is no reason at all. I know 2 people that ended up having IVF for their second babies despite conceiving naturally first time round.
A simple blood test will confirm ovulation and hormone levels.
Good luck x

I would recommend going to the fertility doctor and having them do testing. It could be timing, your spouse, or your genes. It will happen when it is time, but it is good to rule out genetic problems.
I tried for 7 years (but with my husband 14 years now, many times of unprotected sex), had all the testing done-nothing was wrong that they could find. I tried IUI (inter-uterine insemination's) expensive medications. I got pregnant 3 times- all without the help of the fertility Dr, and lost all three pregnancies. I had a hormone deficiency once I was pregnant, they realised the problem, and now I am ion my 2nd trimester and doing good.

It is a possibility. It took my mom 6 years to conceive her first child and miscarried. She had my oldest brother soon after. There are 4 of us siblings (including me), but my mom had 2 other miscarriages in between.
It took me 4 years to ttc. I asked my doctor if it was hereditary and she said that it was possible.
I think that you really want to find out then, you and your sister should see a specialist.
Good luck!

It is possible that you both have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) - this is a very common cause of infertility.
There are a number of identifying symptoms that will give you more clues.... Try typing PCOS into Yahoo Search and read the results

Hey I'm male, but was told once that be sure to take a very cool or cold shower just before you have intercourse. this helps to stimulate the dropping of your eggs. Another thing to try is to ask the Lord to help.
