Well, first of all, when you say reformatted, are you sure you REFORMATTED the drive or you just did like a system restore or something. Even if you just reinstall (a clean install) of the operating system, it is possible for some viruses to survive. Reformatting means, literally wipe out the hard drive and start from scratch. Most people get confused and just by restoring they think that they have reformatted their drive.

If you really did reformatting and started from scratch, then you machine did not have the virus. Now, it is possible that after the reformatting, you got infected again. This implies that you did the same old thing you did before and the reformatting was a total waste. Either the virus is in one of your files (maybe you backed them up with the virus) or maybe a particular program/website.

What you need to do (to really make sure that it is not your machine) is to reformat your computer and BEFORE you do anything else, get an antivirus on it. DO NOT waste your money on Norton or McAfee (they suck). Get AVG here.

It is free and it is awesome. I have been using it for years and it is perfect. Install the antivirus, update completely, and then scan your entire computer. After that scan all of your backups and CDs and floppies (if you are using any) and then restore the backups if they are clean.

This rules out the software being infected. After that AVG will let you know when it comes across a site that is infected so you will know exactly what is happening. If you were to do anything else right after reformatting your machine, you are opening up the possibility of getting it infected again.

As for yahoo mail, I don't think that yahoo itself is infected because yahoo is a lot bigger than just an email client. I am sure they can tell when they get infected and they promptly clean it up and take care of a virus.

If you still think that it is yahoo (after making sure that it is not your own machine), then the only option is pretty much getting a new email address.

You really need to be running an up-to-date virus package. If you can't afford something professional like Norton, you might want to look for a free package like Clamwin.

I'm not sure what you mean by re-formatted. If you did a complete system recovery, how did you restore your software packages. If you did them from a backup, perhaps the backup is infected. On the other hand, some site you visit and do downloads may have a problem. A good anti-virus package is really essential. You also need to scan incoming email. Norton will scan incoming as well as outgoing. Don't skip it.

It is possible that your email is being spoofed. You and your machine may not be sending such emails. If you've reformatted and made sure its not your system, there is nothing else you can do.

one among your human beings has a pandemic it quite is using their handle e book to digital mail itself out. oftentimes this varieties of viruses will contain their very own mail engine so the sent digital mail won't look on your human beings digital mail application sent products. the excellent ingredient to do is to get all your human beings to test their machines. I genuinely have chanced on AVG from Grisoft to be between the greater desirable virus scanners and that they have got a unfastened very own version on their internet site.
