I only occasinally use my printers and it always seems that the ink is dried in them? Can you take the cartridges out to preserve them or do I just need to use them every week? They don't even work decent after I use the cleaning mode...Thanks

Remember these printers are "consumer devices", don't expect them to behave well for long time. They are designed to be your only, low but constant demand device, so, yes, you must use it at least once a week. Avoid cleaning routine, overall in Epson printers; that will worsen obstructions. Once an ink printer is obstructed, you can say good-by to its print head, what usually means to buy a new one.

If you don't use it often, it's more probable that your printer is obstructed than cartriges are dry. Take it to authorized service for a deep nozzle purge, and if it stays the same, better buy HP or Canon (printhead is far cheaper than Epson's, and you can replace it by yourself), and consider choosing separate ink cartridges... Or color laser. It never fails, unles you drop paper clips in it.

definitely that's not the cartridge drying pout, however the ink on the ports. Dried ink is proscribing the bypass, that's what supplies you a lighter result, or maybe no ink in any respect. lots of the time, those issues fail by way of fact the ink uncovered on the ink jet openings dries. Get some rubbing alcohol at a drug shop. It is presented in 2 strengths, 70% and ninety 9%. you prefer unscented ninety 9%. that's isopropyl alcohol, that's the main significant solvent used in the ink. positioned some drops into the melancholy in a saucer and arise the cartridge so the openings are in the alcohol and allow it sit down in one day. Dried ink would be dissolved by using the alcohol and you in all probability can proceed to apply the cartridge. What you do is get 2 cartridges. If one dries out on you, replace over to the different. Then, park the used one in one day in the alcohol pool and day after right this moment, use undeniable uncomplicated scotch tape to tape over the print head openings so the ink would not dry till next time. every time you "clean" the print head, use tape to hide the holes till you prefer it next time.

You didn't Specify the Printer. In most Printers Ink level Monitor Available. You can see howmuch the ink used and howmuch Left. if Ink left there you may only need to Clean its head using its own Driver utility. (remember do not Clean by opening it). In Some printers Ink level is Counted based on Date or usage by the help of Chip. it will not help you by Cleaning. In that case u need to buy neww catridge or Reset that Chip.

I have the same problem! Damned printers! There is not any ways to dissolve this problem. Especially for EPSON printers.
Or use your printer at least 2 times per week. But very often it doesn't work.
Han-han...
